Tour Itinerary
DAY 1Tashkent
Arrival in the morning. Transfer to the hotel and early check-in. After breakfast – start of the sightseeing tour of the capital: ancient mosques and madrasahs (Islamic academies). Visit to the Khazrati Imam complex, which includes the Barak-Khan Madrasah (16th century), the Jami Mosque (functioning Friday mosque), and the Mausoleum of Kaffal Shashi — a great philosopher, poet, and religious figure of the 10th century. Then a stop at Chorsu Bazaar — the most famous market in the city, where you can see locals in traditional clothing. The day ends with a panoramic tour of modern Tashkent: Independence Square, Amir Temur Square, Theater Square, and Tashkent City Square. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Tashkent.
DAY 2TASHKENT — NUKUS — MUYNAQ — USTYURT — ARAL SEA
Breakfast. Flight to Nukus (1 hr 45 min). Transfer to the Aral Sea. On the way — a stop in Muynaq, where you will see the “Ship Cemetery” — a former port with abandoned vessels, and the Local History Museum (may be closed). Lunch at a guesthouse. The trip continues across the vast Ustyurt Plateau. In the late afternoon, arrival at the Aral Sea, with photo stops at canyons and land collapses. Arrival at the yurt camp. Camp-style dinner. Overnight in a yurt.
DAY 3 NUKUS — KHIVA
Breakfast. Visit to the Savitsky Art Museum, which houses the world’s second-largest collection of Russian avant-garde and Karakalpak applied arts. Brief sightseeing tour of Nukus city center: the Berdakh monument, the Hokimiyat building, and the drama theater. Transfer to Khiva. On the way — stops at the archaeological monuments of ancient Khorezm: the Zoroastrian dakhma Chilpyk, the fortresses of Dzhanbas-Kala, Ayaz-Kala, and Toprak-Kala (3rd century AD). Overnight in Khiva.
DAY 4Khiva
Breakfast. Excursion to the sights of Ichan-Kala: Kalta Minor Minaret (1855), Muhammad Amin Khan Madrasah, Kunya-Ark Fortress (1868–1888), the mausoleums of Pahlavan Mahmud and Said Alauddin, the mosque and minaret of Khoja Islam (1908–1910), Shergazi Khan Madrasah. Continuation of the tour: caravanserai (18th century), Alakuli Khan trading dome, Abdullah Khan Madrasah, Palvan-Darvaza Gate, Tosh-Khovli Palace (harem), and the Nurullabay Palace. Dinner. Overnight in Khiva.
DAY 5KHIVA — BUKHARA
After breakfast, departure to Bukhara. Journey through the Kyzylkum Desert with a stop near the Amu Darya River. Arrival in Bukhara. Hotel check-in. Free time. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 6 BUKHARA
Breakfast. Full-day sightseeing tour of Bukhara. Visit to the Mausoleum of Ismail Samani, Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum, Bolo-Hauz Mosque, Ark Citadel (residence of Bukhara emirs), Poi-Kalyan complex (minaret and mosque), Madrasahs of Abdulaziz Khan and Ulugbek, and the Lyabi-Hauz ensemble with a teahouse. Dinner. Overnight in Bukhara.
DAY 7BUKHARA — NURATA — AYDARKUL
Breakfast. Optional master class on cooking pilaf in a local family. Transfer to the Kyzylkum Desert to the yurt camp (230 km, 4 hours). On the way — Sardoba Rabati Malik, Bronze Age petroglyphs, and the sacred springs in Nurata (Chashma complex). Arrival at the camp. In the evening — dinner by the campfire with songs of an akyn (folk singer). Overnight in a yurt.
DAY 8NURATA — LAKE AYDARKUL — SAMARKAND
In the morning, camel ride to Lake Aydarkul (8.5 km, 3 hours). Free time on the lakeshore. After lunch, transfer to Samarkand. Accommodation. Dinner. Free time. Overnight in Samarkand.
DAY 9SAMARKAND
Breakfast. Sightseeing tour: Gur-Emir Mausoleum, Registan Square (Ulughbek, Sher-Dor, and Tilla-Kari madrasahs), Bibi-Khanym Mosque, and Siab Bazaar. Hotel check-in. Dinner. Overnight in Samarkand.
DAY 10SAMARKAND — PANJIKENT (TAJIKISTAN)
Breakfast. Transfer to the border with Tajikistan. Meet the guide. Continue to Panjikent — a city in the Zeravshan Valley, founded in the 5th–8th centuries. Excursion to the ruins of the ancient city: the citadel, craftsmen’s houses, and Zoroastrian temples. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 117 LAKES — KHUJAND
Transfer to the Fann Mountains, crossing the Shakhristan Pass (3,378 m), and drive to the Marguzor (Seven) Lakes (~60 km). Short hike and meeting with local residents. Transfer to Khujand. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 12KHUJAND — UZBEKISTAN BORDER — FERGHANA
In the morning — sightseeing tour of Khujand: Kamoli Khujandi Square, Timur Malik Fortress, Sughd Museum, Muslihiddin Memorial Complex, Panjshanbe Bazaar, Arbob Palace, and the Central Mosque. After lunch — transfer to the Oybek border, border crossing, and transfer to Ferghana. Overnight at the hotel.
ДЕНЬ 13MARGILAN — RISHTAN — KOKAND — TASHKENT
Early breakfast. Visit to the pottery center of Alisher Nazarov in Rishtan, one of the most renowned masters of Uzbek ceramics. Lunch. On the way — stop in Kokand: residence of the khans, a religious center of the region in the 18th century. Arrival in Tashkent. Check-in. Overnight in Tashkent.
ДЕНЬ 14TASHKENT — CHIMGAN — CHARVAK — TASHKENT
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the Chimgan Mountains (80 km, ~2 hours). The road passes through picturesque areas with villages, gardens, and streams. Arrival in Charvak. Lunch. Hotel check-in.
Then transfer to the cable car, which runs through the Beldersay Gorge — a 3 km ride to Kumbel Peak (2,400 m), the starting point of the longest ski slope.
Ascent to the top by cable car. A light horseback ride is possible on the highlands. Descent back via cable car after 1–2 hours.
Then visit the shore of the Charvak Reservoir, surrounded by green hills.
With resorts, beaches, and camps, Charvak is a favorite place for locals and tourists to relax.
Here you can enjoy water sports: jet skiing, catamaran sailing, banana rides, and more.
Dinner. Return to Tashkent.
