Splendor of the East: Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent in 7 Days

After breakfast – a full-day excursion in Bukhara. The city tour includes: the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, the oldest and most valuable in the country, a masterpiece of medieval architecture built by Ismail Samani for his father Nasr I. The Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum. We will visit the Bolo-Hauz Mosque, the official place of worship for the emirs, built in 1718 and located next to the Ark gates, the city center and the official residence of the rulers of Bukhara. Time for lunch. After lunch – visit to the Poi Kalyan Minaret and Mosque, as well as the Abdulaziz Khan and Ulugbek madrasahs, the Lyabi-Hauz ensemble, which is the modern center of traditional Uzbekistan with a pond and teahouse. Dinner at a local restaurant. Folklore show at the Nadir Divan-Begi Madrasah (optional, $25 per person with dinner). Overnight in Bukhara.

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, transfer to the railway station to board the high-speed train. Afrasiab To Samarkand (1 hour 40 minutes). Arrival in Samarkand and check-in at the hotel. Free time to relax. After lunch – excursion to the magnificent Registan Squarewhere three madrasahs are located, entirely covered with tiles and lapis lazuli mosaics: Ulugh Beg Madrasa, Sher-Dor Madrasa and Tilla-Kari Madrasa — one of the most impressive architectural complexes in Central Asia. Then, visit the magnificent Bibi-Khanym Mosquebuilt by Tamerlane for his beloved wife.

After breakfast, starting at 11:00, we begin the tour by visiting ancient mosques and madrasahs (Islamic academies), the Hazrati Imam complex, which includes the Barak-Khan Madrasah (16th century), the old Jami Mosque (Friday Mosque), which is still in use, and the Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum — the tomb of the great philosopher, poet, and Islamic teacher who lived in the 10th century.
At 14:00, lunch at the center of Uzbek pilaf, where you can try national Uzbek dishes and watch the cooking process. After lunch, the tour of ancient mosques and madrasahs will begin.
After that, there will be a panoramic tour of the modern city: Independence Square, Amir Timur Square, and Theatre Square.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Tashkent.

After breakfast, transfer to the train station for departure on the high-speed “Afrosiyob” train to Bukhara.
