Tour Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Ashgabat
Flight to Turkmenistan, arrival in Ashgabat (overnight flight), customs clearance and transfer to the hotel for early check-in.
Breakfast at the hotel. Ashgabat city tour, including the Presidential Palace, Ruhiyat Palace, Wedding Palace and Independence Monument. Transfer to Nisu, a complex of Parthian ruins and temples, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. Nysa was one of the first capitals of the Parthian Empire and served as a royal necropolis. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 Ashgabat-Kov Ata-Nohur-Balkanabad
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the underground lake Kov-Ata. The name Kov-Ata means "Father of Caves". The cave is 230 meters long and 20 meters high. Off-road transfer to Nohur, a village in the western Kopet Dag Mountains. Visit the Old Tree, Nohur Cemetery and the sacred site of Giz Bibi. Transfer to Balkanabad for dinner and overnight.
Day 3Balkanabad-Yangikala – Turkmenbashi
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the sacred site of Gozli Ata on the way to Yangykala Canyon, a picturesque natural site in Turkmenistan. Dinner and overnight in Turkmenbashi.
Day 4Turkmenbashi – Ashgabat – Darvaza
Breakfast at the hotel. Flight from Turkmenbashi to Ashgabat. Visit the Carpet Museum, which displays about 2,000 carpets, including the world's largest handmade carpet from 2001 with an area of 301 m2. This carpet was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2003. Transfer to Darwaza Crater, known as "Hell's Gate". Dinner and overnight in a Turkmen yurt or tents.
Day 5Darvaza – Ashgabat – Goktepe – Ashgabat
Picnic style breakfast in Darwaza. After breakfast, drive to Altyn Asyr Market, one of the largest outdoor markets in the world, where you can buy colorful carpets, jewelry and traditional Turkmen clothing. Visit to the fortress in Goktepe, guided tour of the fortress and mosque. Transfer to the Akhal-Teke horse breeding farm, the pride of the Turkmen people. On the way to Ashgabat, stop to visit the Turkmenbashi Mosque. Guided tour of the National Museum of History, which features extensive exhibits, including archaeological and ethnographic finds from all over the country. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6Departure
Transfer to the airport and end of the tour.
