3 Stans of Central Asia: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan

Travel itinerary: Bishkek – Burana – Chon Kemin – Ala archa – Kemin – Bishkek – Osh – Khujand – Dushanbe – Kulob – Dushanbe – Termez – Samarkand – Bukhara – Khiva – Tashkent

Your guide will pick you up at Manas International Airport and accompany you to the capital city of Kyrgyzstan, just a 30-minute drive from the airport. This entire day is dedicated to a guided tour of Bishkek. It includes visiting Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala-Too Square, the National Arts Museum, National Philharmonic, and many others places of interest. But no tour of Bishkek is complete without visiting our Asian Bazaar! We will show it to you today and you will be able to take a lot of dynamic photos of bustling local life. This bazaar is a noisy and colorful tapestry of fabrics, produce, and people selling and buying goods.
You will spend the night in a hotel.


Bishkek – Burana – Chon Kemin
Today you will be transferred to Chon Kemin gorge. On route to the gorge you will visit Burana Tower (an 11th century minaret) and an open air museum of Balbals (stone warriors). After an interesting excursion and climbing on the top of the tower is transfer to Chon Kemin gorge. Here you will meet a nice family that will prepare a traditional lunch for you. In the afternoon we will have 3 hours of horse riding. Your route will go high in the mountains and you will even ride horses through a mountain forest. On the top you will see the panorama view of the gorge.
The night will be in a home stay.


Chon Kemin – Ala Archa – Bishkek
In the morning is drive back to Bishkek. Today we will visit Ala Archa gorge. It is a Natural Park. At the Soviet Time only V.I.P. people had permission to go for a walk here. The Ala Archa gorge is on a spur of the Tien Shan mountain range. It is just 45 km from Bishkek. You can have a short hiking tour to see a panoramic view of the gorge. If you want we can go hiking a little bit longer to see a small scenic waterfall. Afterwards we return to Bishkek.
Night will be in a hotel.


Bishkek – Osh – Guliston – Khujand
In the morning we will transfer you to the airport for a flight to the city of Osh. In Osh city you will have a walk and will get to visit a famous and special place - Suleiman Mountain. Suleiman Too (Solomon’s Mountain) is situated in the city center and it is considered a place of pilgrimage for local Muslims, because according to the legend, biblical prophet Solomon (Suleiman, in the Koran) was buried at the foot of it. After lunch we will transfer to the Kyrgyz-Tadjik border. Then is drive to Khudjand.
Night is in a hotel.


Khujand – Dushanbe
In the morning we will visit a Cultural Palace of Khujant. At this place the first president of Tajikistan was chosen. Also we will go to see Central Mosque that is situated in the middle of the city. Then is drive to Dushanbe. The road to the lakes goes over Anzob pass (3 372 m) and tunnel of Isticlol. The road will go over a mountain passes and you will have many photo stops. The second half of the day is dedicated to a guided city tour. First of we will visit Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, House of parliament and Jomi theatre. After it we will walk in National park to see Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world – 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. After excursion in Central Museum you will visit Archeological museum and Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. Dinner will be in a traditional restaurant where you try Tajik food.
Night is in a hotel.


Dushanbe – Kulob city – Dushanbe
In the morning you will drive to Kulob city located 203 km southeast of the capital Dushanbe on the Yakhsu River (a tributary of the Panj) at 580 m above sea level. On the way you will see Norak water reservoir that is called Tajik Sea. We will drive over Chormahzak and Shar – Shar passes including the tunnels. We will visit Khuramshahr in Dangara where is the Second biggest “Tea House” in the world (The biggest located in Tajikistan, Dushanbe also). You will have a stop in Hulbuk fortress (III b.c) for the photos. In Kulob we will visit the Mausoleum of Mir Said Ali Hamadoni. This is an architectural monument of XIV-XVI centuries and is the burial place of Hamadoni Mir Said Ali, a poet, philosopher and thinker of the XV century. Near the museum a national "Istaravshan" teahouse is located, where you can taste traditional national dish. After sightseeing in Kulob you will drive back to Dushanbe.

Dushanbe – Termez
Transfer to Tajikistan-Uzbekistan border Bratstvo-Sariosiyo (70 km, 1 h.). Go through border formalities on both checkpoints. On Uzbekistan side meet your local guide and driver. Transfer to Termez (180 km, 2 h. and 30 min.). In the afternoon have a short sightseeing tour in Termez: visit Archeology Museum and Mausoleum of Al-Hakim at-Termezi.
Overnight at the hotel.


Termez – Samarkand (550 km, 7 – 8 h)
Early breakfast and at 07:00 Drive to Samarkand. Arrival in Samarkand at 15:00. Transfer to the hotel and check-in.
Free time. Overnight in Samarkand.


Breakfast. Full day sightseeing of Samarkand includes the visits to Gur Emir Mausoleum (where conqueror Amir Temur (Temurlane), famous Registan Square (with Madrassa Sherdor XVII century, Tilla Kori and Ulugbek XV century), remains of grandiose Bibi Khanum Mosque, Samarkand oriental bazaar, Shokhi Zinda Nekropoles.
Overnight in Samarkand.


Samarkand – Bukhara (280 km, 4 -5 h)
Breakfast. Continue sightseeing: visit Afrasiab Museum and the Tomb of Saint Daniel. Then drive to Koni Ghil village to learn how Samarkand paper from mulberry is made in a traditional way. In the afternoon depart Samarkand and drive to Bukhara. Arrive in Bukhara, check in to the hotel.
Overnight in Bukhara.


Breakfast. We start our tour from the Mausoleum of the Samanids and architectural jewel of the ninth century, the Mausoleum of Tchashma Ayoub "Source of Job", Mosque Bolo Khouz "mosque over the bath," the Citadel Ark the heart of the old town, was the official residence of the rulers of Bukhara. Lunch time. Then we continue our tour from the Kalon Complex occupies a central part of the city of Bukhara with its impressive Kalon Minaret of the twelfth century, Poi-Kalyan Complex including: Minaret of Kalyan (XII), Medrese of Mir-Arab (XVI), Kalyan Mosque (XV).
Overnight in Bukhara.


Bukhara – Khiva (500 km, 7-8 h.)
In the morning depart Bukhara and drive to Khiva. The Great Silk Road once routed through Bukhara and Khiva ran through the Kyzylkum Desert. Stop en-route to enjoy views of the desert and Amudarya River. Arrive in Khiva late in the afternoon, check in to the hotel. Time for rest.
Overnight at the hotel.


Khiva – Tashkent
Full day for sightseeing of Khiva – AM sightseeing including visits to the inner town of Ichan Kala (XIV-XX CC) with Muhamad Amin khan Madrassah, Kalta Minor Minaret, Kunya Ark, Muhamad Rahim khan Madrassah, Djuma Mosque and Minaret, Tash Hauli Palace. PM sightseeing for 2 hrs: Islam Khodja Minaret and Madrassah, Shirgazi khan Madrassah Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum. Transfer to airport. Flight to Tashkent. Arrival in Tashkent and transfer to hotel.
Overnight in Tashkent.


Tashkent – Departure
Transfer to the airport. End of the tour.
